Pure nickel has the following color and appearance characteristics:
🎨 Color: Silvery-white or silvery-gray
✨ Luster: Metallic luster, bright and shiny when freshly polished
🔧 Surface: Smooth, can be highly polished to a mirror finish or left matte depending on processing
🌫️ Oxidation: Forms a thin oxide layer when exposed to air, which slightly dulls the shine over time but also protects the metal from further corrosion
Additional Notes:
Nickel plating is often used on other metals to give them a bright, corrosion-resistant finish.
In industrial and commercial use, pure nickel can appear slightly darker or matte depending on surface treatment (e.g., cold-rolled vs. annealed).
