Stainless Steel Alloy 660
Alloy 660 is an austenitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel renowned for its outstanding strength at temperatures up to 700°C. Alloy 660, also known as UNS S66286 and A-286 alloy, derives its strength from its high degree of homogeneity. It has a minimum yield strength of 105,000 psi and is often utilized in materials for high-temperature fastening and bolting. Additional uses for alloy 660 include:
Jet engines
Gas turbines
Components of a turbocharger
For an alloy to be regarded a member of the Alloy 660 family, the following elements must be present in its chemical composition:
Ni 24-27.0%
Cr 13.50-16.0%
Ti 1.90-2.35%
Mn 2.0% max
Mo 1-1.5%
Si 1.0% max
V 0.10-0.50%
Al 0.35% max
Notable about the chemical composition of Alloy 600 is that, due to its high nickel content for a stainless steel, it is frequently classified as a nickel alloy, hence the A-286 designation.
Sino Special Metal is pleased to distribute Alloy 660 in a variety of forms, including as coil, sheet, and plate. Our Alloy 600 metals conform to NAS, UNS, JIS, and ASTM (A453, A638) standards and specifications.
