Safety Operating Procedures for Pipe Bending Processing Plant

 

Pipe bending processing plants typically handle pipes that are either to be processed or have already undergone processing. In most cases, pipes in the production process are usually straight and need to be bent as per specific requirements. During pipe bending operations, the following safety operating procedures should be adhered to:

 

1. Inspect the main machine, auxiliary machines, oil pumps, water pumps, and air compressors to ensure they are in good condition.

2. Check the medium-frequency power supply to ensure all components are in good condition.

 

3. Start the cooling water system and adjust the water pressure to the required level.

4. Start the oil pump, check the oil system, set the oil quantity control valve to the closed position, and place other valves in the bending position.

5. Power up the medium-frequency power supply. After the medium-frequency power supply is in operation, the heating temperature of the steel pipe should reach the required temperature for bending, maintaining the appropriate oil quantity, and commence pipe pushing. Pay attention to the matching of pushing speed, heating temperature, power changes, and temperature to ensure the heating temperature does not exceed the limit.

6. In case of water stoppage or power outage, stop the machine promptly and retract the oil cylinder.

7. Stop the heating power supply and oil control valve. Stop the cooling water or compressed air based on the cooling condition of the heating zone. Loosen the front clamp, retract the oil cylinder, and stop the installation system immediately.

8. Ensure there are no obstacles around the pipe bending machine that hinder its operation. Regularly lubricate the rails, screws, and lubrication components.

9. Maintain equipment maintenance records and equipment repair records on time.

10. When hoisting pipes, first inspect the wire rope and hooks for compliance, and use wire ropes and clamps reasonably within the safe lifting range. Ensure a stable lifting of pipes, and workers should not stand under suspended pipes. When changing supporting blocks, maintain a stable operation position, and use blocks with lifting ears. Before leaving the pipe bending processing plant, ensure proper machine cleaning.

 

Pipe bending operations require significant equipment and may be associated with certain risks. Hence, it is crucial to remind workers to remember and adhere to safety operating procedures during processing to ensure their safety.

 

Valve Connections for Pipe Bends

 

In various industries, pipes often need to be bent, and to make a functional pipeline, they need to connect with different valves to prevent leaks. What are the valve connections for pipes?

 

1. Flanged Valves:

Flanged valves have their own flanges on the valve body. In the case of bent pipes, you can only install the corresponding size of supporting rings and flanges. A fusion-bonded support ring is required, and the flange is fixed onto the flanged valve.

 

2. Threaded Valves:

Threaded valves usually have external threads. To connect them to the pipe, you'll need to add an internal thread on the pipe. This internal thread is directly heat-fused onto the bent pipe, after which it is connected to the threaded valve using screws.

 

3. Copper Gate Valves:

Copper gate valves are typically flange-connected. The connection method is similar to "Flanged Valves." However, if you encounter an internal thread gate valve, the external thread is directly installed on the bent pipe, which is similar to "Threaded Valves."

 

Bent pipes can be connected to different types of valves, and these connections may vary due to the type of valve. It's important to know which valve you need to connect and then choose the appropriate connection method.
