Scroll down to the rating table that corresponds to your flange (this depends on the material of the flange, as flanges with different material grades have different pressure ratings)
Determine your piping system's maximum working temperature (i.e. select one line in the table)
Choose a rating based on the maximum pressure you anticipate at that temperature (i.e. select one column in that line)
Below are the ASME B16.34 pressure rating charts for the most common flange materials to assist you (carbon, alloy, stainless).

Let's illustrate with an example

1. Determine Required Flange Rating To Install the Valve

Existing Pipe Detail:

Pipe Material: C-Si or Equal to A106 gr B

Design Temperature: 270 ℃

Design Pressure: 13.8 bar

2. Find the Material Group No in ASME B16.5 Table-1A:

Material Group= 1.1

Pressure Temperature Rating= Table 2-1.1

3. Determine Required Flange Rating Based on Design Temperature Rating =Table 2-1.1

Design Temperature: 270 ℃; Design Pressure: 13.8 bar

Appropriate Flange Class: 300

ASTM A105: An extended exposure to temperatures above 425°C, converts the carbide phase of steel to graphite (therefore this material is not recommended for constant temperatures above this value.

ASTM A350 LF6: shall not be used for temperatures above 260 C°
