Introduction:

Following stamping, the flanges need to be reshaped at elevated temperatures. Subsequently, the outer diameter and wall thickness of the flange fittings need to be defined. This is followed by precision machining to remove the tin-plated layer from the inner and outer surfaces and the addition of grooves at both ends to facilitate welding. After undergoing inspections, stamping, painting, packaging, and other processes, stainless steel flanges are ready for shipment from the factory.

 

Throughout the manufacturing process, stainless steel flanges undergo more inspections and heat treatment procedures compared to other pipeline components. The remaining steps are the same. If the flanges are not handled properly, deformations may occur, leading to reshaping failures. Additionally, after stamping, the front-end outer diameter is often larger due to welding, necessitating non-destructive testing. To mitigate welding stresses, heat treatment is applied to the stainless steel flanges.

 

Various machining methods are employed in the production of stainless steel flanges, most of which fall under the category of mechanical processing. Common methods include stamping, forging, rolling, expanding, stretching, rolling, bending, and composite processing.

 

Description of the Manufacturing Process for Stainless Steel Flanges:

 

1. Rolling Process: Typically, a core shaft is not used, and it is suitable for the inner edges of thick-walled pipes.

 

2. Expansion Process: Rubber is placed inside the hose and compressed at the upper end using a perforating machine, causing the hose to protrude into a specific shape. An alternative method is hydraulic expansion, where the central part of the hose is filled with liquid, and hydraulic pressure expands the hose into the desired shape. This method is commonly used in the production of stainless steel flanges.

 

3. Forging Process: This method involves using a forging machine to extrude one end or a section of the pipe into the electric butterfly valve to reduce the outer diameter. Common types of forging machines include rotary, connecting rod, and rolling types.
